Patient Services Overview

Planned Parenthood of South Central New York, Inc. provided 18,295 medical visits in 2006 at our clinics in Binghamton, Lisle, Norwich, Oneonta, Sidney and Walton.

ladyWe work to ensure that our patients have access to the high quality, confidential health care and information they need to make responsible decisions and create healthy families. Patient health care is our top priority. Every day, Planned Parenthood strives to ensure our medical services are comprehensive, accessible and affordable.

All medical care is overseen by Diane Georgeson, M.D., a Board Certified Gynecologist. Our professional staff of Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Midwives and Nurses provides FDA-approved methods of hormonal and barrier birth control, annual gynecological exams, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections, pregnancy testing and options counseling, screening for breast, cervical, testicular and colorectal cancers, and emergency contraception.

We continue to provide Colposcopies and LEEPS (Loop Electro- Excision Procedures) to our patients who have abnormal pap test results. These sophisticated procedures can extensively test and remove pre-cancerous cells on the cervix, potentially saving the patient’s life.

We continue to care for hundreds of male patients in our clinics. Men are realizing what a valuable and trusted resource we are for them, and more men than ever trust us with their health care needs.

All services are on a sliding fee scale and no one is ever turned away due to inability to pay. We accept most forms of insurance, including Medicaid and Family Health Plus. For many of our clients, the services at Planned Parenthood may be the only medical care they receive all year.
